Grown in the fertile highlands of Kenya, the FAQ Mbogo lot is produced by dedicated smallholder farmers whose generations of experience are reflected in every harvest. Rich volcanic soils, abundant rainfall, and cool temperatures create an ideal environment for cultivating high-quality coffee, allowing cherries to mature slowly and develop exceptional character.
After harvesting, only the ripest cherries are selected before undergoing Kenya’s renowned washed process. The cherries are pulped, carefully fermented to remove the mucilage, thoroughly washed with clean water, and then dried slowly on raised African beds. Throughout the process, meticulous attention is given to sorting and drying, ensuring consistency while preserving the coffee’s clarity and vibrant origin characteristics.
The name Mbogo, meaning “buffalo” in Swahili, reflects the strength and resilience of the region where this coffee is produced. Combined with Kenya’s long standing reputation for meticulous processing and quality focused production, this lot represents the craftsmanship and dedication that continue to make Kenyan coffees some of the most celebrated in the world.
